"I recently bought my first ever brand new Toyota (2012) from Mtn. States and had the best salesman ever...Bo Bliss. Prior to this I took my older Toyota ('97) to them for servicing and I was always treated extremely well. 3 mos. after purchasing my new car I was hit by a driver and it was totaled. I let my insurance know and contacted Toyota again and received a lot of special attention and they offered me the exact same deal on another new car. Bo even went above his duty to find me the exact same car in the exact same color. It is being ordered and shipped as I write this. There was no hassle,or pressure to buy and I feel like a real part of the Toyota family. I bought my first Toyota from another dealer and it was a very bad experience and would never recommend this dealership to anyone. But Mtn. States is one of the best and I feel respected and very welcome and it is truly genuine. I have recommended this dealership to everyone I know and will continue to hold them in high esteem. Thank you to all the staff at Mountain States Toyota....you deserve the best rating of any dealership in the Rocky Mountain area! Keep up the good work!"

"My experience with Mountain States Toyota has always been great. I was very pleased with Steve overall as well. This was my first new car purchase ever and his attitude was excellent and he didn't rush me or rush me to purchase on the spot or that same day. Not the typical salesman I guess you could say. I will be referring anyone looking for a car to go to Mountain states and to ask for Steve."

"Went in looking for a 4Runner at the one on Broadway, Greeted by Kelly Nemieth. Our experience was by fay the best we have ever had at any dealership. We expected the best service and we got the best. We are very happy that we were able to deal with him. He took care of everything for us I have never bought a vehilcle so easily in my life and the whole process was stress free. The dealership is amazing and I am very happy that we decided to go there. We were debating between Stevinson Toyota and Mountain States Toyota. Being an existing Stevinson Lexus customer I have to say Mountain States by far takes the cake. Spring Car Care Guide
It’s that time again. You can’t put it off or go in slowly, you just have to March in headfirst and start spring cleaning. Spring cleaning is not only for your home but is also important for the upkeep of your vehicle. Just like continuing to ride on bad brakes or putting off an oil change after 5,000+ miles, neglecting the interior and exterior of your vehicle can cause more damage to it. Keeping your vehicle clean is not just about the sleek look but over time, a car's paint erodes due to the effects of sunlight, UV radiation, air pollution, acid rain, and salt. The longer foreign materials sit on your car's surface, the more difficult it is to remove and the more likely it will cause damage.
Most think (I know I did before doing some research!) that you don’t need to wash your car after it rains – the rain is cleaning it for me. Actually, that is one of the most critical times to wash your vehicle because of the ill effects of acid rain. The water evaporates but the acid lurks behind and eats into your vehicle's finish.
Cleaning a car is simple right? While it's the most basic procedure in car care, it does deserve a little thought. Follow the tips below for the proper washing techniques.
Clean the tires and wheels before washing the body of your vehicle, and use a separate mitt for each. You want to avoid contaminating the vehicle's paint with the debris from your wheels and tires. A tire cleaner with a firm brush is the best method.
Now it’s time to move on and wash the body of your car. Almost one-third of car owners use damaging non-automotive products for washing their vehicles. Using dish detergent and other household cleaners can strip the wax finish on your car. Look for a product sold specifically for automobiles. A formulated automotive wash will gently lift the grime while protecting the finish. Starting at the top, wash one section at a time, thoroughly rinsing away the soap. Work your way down toward the front, sides, and rear of the vehicle. Save the back-end of the car for last since it usually has the largest buildup of dirt and grime. To avoid those nasty water spots afterwards, dry your vehicle down with a chamois or similar product.
Almost half of vehicle owner’s never wax their cars. Waxing is recommended at least twice a year for maximum protection. (More frequent waxing may be needed if your car is black, red or white since these colors are more vulnerable to UV rays and acid rain.) Waxing serves three primary purposes: cleans a car's finish, improves the shine, and most importantly, protects the surface against the aggressive effects of foreign materials. Waxing sets up a protective barrier against hostile attacks from the environment, keeping your vehicle's appearance protected for years to come. Before applying the wax check for foreign particles on the paint. Once the surface is clean, apply the wax. Make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for application. It is often recommend not using the product in direct sunlight.
Keeping the exterior of your vehicle clean is important but so is the interior. Frequent vacuuming of the upholstery and mats will remove much of the dirt that can contribute to wear and tear of the fabric and carpet. Clean interior surfaces like panels, with a suitable interior cleaner and apply a protectant to prevent damage from the sun’s ultraviolet rays. To further protect your interior, an application of a fabric guard will repel water and stains and make further clean-ups much easier. And lastly, spray some odor-eater to freshen the car's interior.
While spring-cleaning this season, don’t forget your vehicle. To keep it looking it’s best and lasting longer, frequent washing and waxing is important. Keeping a clean vehicle will you give you a sense of accomplishment and gratification. Also keep in mind that a clean, well-maintained car can be worth up to 50 percent more than one in 'fair' condition, according to the Kelley Blue Book. Now that should get everyone out there throwing away the burger wrappers in the backseat and gathering a bucket and rag!

Toyota Avalon Hybrid Named 2013 "Best Green Car" At Atlanta International Auto Show
The all-new Toyota Avalon Hybrid was named the "Best Green Car" at the 2013 Atlanta International Auto Show by the Greater Atlanta Automotive Media Association (GAAMA).
The group of automotive journalists has been awarding "best of show" vehicles for four years running, said Davis Adams, president of GAAMA. "The Avalon is an impressive option in the green car category, with size, luxury and fuel efficiency that make it a standout in a segment otherwise crowded with smaller economy cars," Adams said.
The Avalon's Hybrid Synergy Drive uses a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that employs the Atkinson cycle to postpone closure of the intake valves and delay the compression cycle, helping reduce intake and exhaust energy losses to improve fuel efficiency. Reduced weight, clean aerodynamics and an efficient Hybrid drivetrain combine to give this sedan a combined 40 mpg EPA-rating (40 city/39 hwy). Taking the Avalon's 17-gallon fuel tank into consideration, the Avalon Hybrid can offer a range of more than 600 miles per tank.
"The 2013 Avalon was built to be a world-class sedan, with new levels of excitement, dynamic capability and refinement," said Bryan Robinson, area sales manager for Southeast Toyota Distributors, who spoke to media at the show. "Toyota wanted to make a big statement with this car, and awards like this and the sales numbers tells us that we've made the right combination of superior styling, exciting design and comfort, all in a very 'green' vehicle."
Designed, developed and assembled in the U.S., the new Avalon Hybrid shares the same passionate styling, innovation, and an elevated level of craftsmanship as the gas-only Avalon. So far, the Avalon has been a hit with consumers. Toyota's flagship sedan saw its sales increase by 63 percent in February, with sales of 5,703 Avalons over the month.

"I was looking for the 2013 Toyota Tacoma and found that Mountain States had the best price for what I was looking for. I saw Jimmy Gallegos' picture on Craigslist/Denver and it made me laugh since his picture was of a bobble head doll with his face on it and I said right then and there that I was going to deal with this guy. I called him up, he located the vehicle and said it would be in the middle of next month. I got my finances in order and went in one afternoon and took care of the paperwork in about two hours, my truck came in and Jimmy had it all taken care of and called me. I went in and picked up the truck in about an hour and went on my way. I was very pleased with the srevice and the dealership, the price was the best and even the finance guy was very helpful and I felt they were honest people. I would recommend this dealership and salesman to anyone looking for a Toyota or Scion vehicle. I noticed there used car prices were always lower than the other toyota dealerships in town but, ended up buying new. Thank You Mountain States Toyota!!! I now have my dream truck"

6 Tips To Keep Your Car Organized And Clean
When you first got your car, each crumb, receipt, jacket and water bottle was ushered quickly out of its confines and into your home (or the trashcan). However, that immaculate, near-sterile level of care you used to provide your automobile – not the case anymore.
Cars often become dumping sites and end up a bit grimy (adios, new car smell!). Lucky for you, if you make a few changes, you can maintain a clean, organized vehicle without traumatic monthly clean-outs.
1. Utilize Organizational Tools
If you’re the type of person who has a personalized organizational system thatoften results in announcing things like, “I know exactly which stack that’s in – I have a refined system!” as people look on in horror, it’s time to make a change, preferably to a system that evokes smiles from onlookers. Consider the bevy of interesting items that will make your life easier:
- Sticky Dashboard Mat: A wonder product. This vinyl- or gel-like pad (looks similar to a mouse pad) sticks to your dashboard. The surface is tacky to the touch, so you can place your cell phone or iPod on it without it falling to the floor. And don’t worry – it doesn’t leave a sticky residue on your belongings.
- Tidy Cups: What’s that on your floor? Pens? Glasses? A random lollipop? Slip hanging cup organizers into your cup holders for a place to stow all of those little items.
- Seat Back Organizers: Those bigger items that roll around in the backseat – think children’s toys, compact umbrella, packaged snacks and everything in between – will fit nicely in a seat back organizer. It’s like an apron for the back of the seat with ample pocket room for odds and ends.
- Trunk Dividers: Whether it’s groceries or cleaning tools, a trunk divider offers compartments so your larger items remain organized (and in place).
- Kits/Toolboxes: First aid materials? A jack and a lug wrench? Collect these loose items into separate containers for safe keeping and easy access.
Organizing your car doesn’t just mean shoving everything out of sight. When you know where everything belongs, it makes keeping your car neat – and finding what you’re looking for – a total breeze. For example:
- Glove Box: Manuals, registration and insurance card
- Console: Tech accessories (chargers, adapters), tissues and gum/breath mints
- Door Compartment: Maps, atlas and travel literature
Eighty-seven CDs in the front seat of your car does not make for an organized space. Place your CDs into an organizer. Use portfolio style cases that sit on the floor or keep them close with visor organizers. Or, go modern and move your entire collection onto an iPod or MP3 player for major space saving.
4. Set A Schedule
If you keep telling yourself you’ll empty your car of various unnecessary items (the blanket for the picnic two Saturdays ago, perhaps?), you might find it’s still there in three months. Set a simple schedule. Really simple. Like, “I’ll straighten up my car every Friday and wash it Saturday morning.” This method truly works wonders.
5. Tote Cleaning Products
Carry your cleaning products with you, and you’ll actually clean your car. And waiting to spot-treat a coffee spill until nine hours after the fact when you finally get home from work or school? Not very effective. Items to consider:
- Towels/rags
- Paper towels
- Window cleaner
- Small vacuum/dust buster
- Carpet stain remover
Don’t wait for the rain to do it – it never comes out quite as sparkly! You have a bunch of options for getting the car cleaned. Spend a little extra, and you don’t even have to lift a finger.
- Professional: The priciest on this list, but bringing your car to a car wash with real people is the most thorough you’re going to get. Professionals will clean your car inside and out, and they happen to have the right products on hand.
- Drive-Thru: You never even have to get out of your car! Pay at the automated machine (typically $10 or less) and enjoy the suds as you drive through.
- DIY: In your own driveway or at a pull-in stall that operates on quarters. Either way, your car will get a nice scrub down.
- Scented Car Freshener: Throw one of these into your car for good measure. A freshly scented car completes the package.

Here's a helpful midweek tire tip!
Use a
penny to determine if the tread on your tires is too low. Take a penny
and put Abe's head into one of the grooves of the tread. If part of his
head is covered by the tread, you're okay. If you can see all of Abe's
head, it's time to replace the tire!
If you see Abe, come down to Mountain States Toyota and get new tires! Make sure to bring in our coupon for a great deal!

Revealed: Toyota FT-86 Open Concept - Geneva 2013
Making its world debut in Geneva as a one-off, the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept is the de facto precursor to a future drop-top version of the automaker's new FT-86 sport coupe - a vehicle marketed here as the Scion FR-S. While Toyota admits that a few engineering issues still need to be worked out before the final production spec is approved, it also notes that the FR-86/FR-S was designed from the start to accommodate an al fresco variant.
While maintaining all of the standard powertrain and chassis components of the rear-drive FT-86 Coupe -- including its 200-horsepower/2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine, choice of a 6-speed manual or paddle shifted 6-speed automatic transmission and superbly sorted suspension -- the Open Concept swaps its fixed steel roof for a power operated multi-layer fabric soft top with an integrated glass rear window. The compact design of the top and its operating mechanism allow the FT-86 Open Concept to retain most of the Coupe's trunk space as well as its 2+2 seating configuration, although here too, space in the aft quarters remains at a premium.
In keeping with its show-car status, the distinctive pure bright white and navy blue color scheme of the FT-86 Open Concept was created by Toyota Boshoku Milan Design (TBMD) to capture the spirit and atmosphere of the Italian world style center. Inside, the cabin of the Open Concept features the same palette, complementing perforated white leather upholstery layered over a navy blue backing with golden-yellow accent stitching and carpet/floor mats. The Open Concept also has a unique center stack that swaps out the basic FT-86 audio package for a different head unit and a trio of supplemental gauges plus an auxiliary iPhone holder.
No word yet on exactly when an FT-86 Convertible and its Scion FR-S counterpart might arrive in showrooms. Despite Toyota's claim this one-off was created merely to judge public response to the idea of an open-air addition to the lineup, we wouldn't be surprised to see production start sometime within the next 12 months.
